Could you briefly describe your company and the industry in which it operates?
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services offers financing solutions for all Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Buses vehicles. We are part of Daimler Truck Financial Services, the global financial services division of the Daimler Trucks AG Group. We are a financial entity regulated by the Central Bank.
What problems or challenges were you facing before you started working with Skyonline?
Since the split of Mercedes-Benz Group and Daimler Truck Groups in 2022, we faced the challenge of carving out a new path in terms of infrastructure, something we had not experienced in the last 15 years, since we had been processing all group companies’ data in the same datacenters. It was not just about exploring new local horizons, as the group was newly formed and had no global strategy yet. Added to this were local Central Bank regulations and import restrictions at the time, making the decision difficult.
How did these challenges affect your business?
Decisions had to be made within the previously described context, which clearly impacted the business together with the entire IT and Security teams, since it involved migrating both the primary and secondary datacenters. It wasn’t just about new costs, but also entering unknown territory while simultaneously complying with all Corporate and Central Bank standards, especially with the new Regulation A 7724 being launched.
What made you choose Skyonline?
It was a partnership alongside Movistar Empresas and Skyonline to have the best solution we needed: a primary and secondary datacenter in different locations to comply with best practices and regulations.
How would you describe the collaboration with our team during this process?
The Skyonline team, led by Fernando and coordinated technically by Juan Manuel, was outstanding—always transparent and communicative, ready to face any of the many and varied challenges we encountered at every stage.
